Service & Repairs

Most of the systems we are called out to worked perfectly once. Cameras that stopped recording months ago without anybody noticing, an intercom that still rings but no longer releases the gate, a motor that grinds and sticks on the last half metre of travel. We work on any brand, whoever installed it, including jobs another contractor started and walked away from.

A call-out begins with fault-finding rather than parts. We test the system, tell you what has actually failed and what it costs to put right, then wait for your go-ahead. We carry the common spares — power supplies, safety beams, remotes, cameras and batteries — so straightforward faults are often cleared on the same visit. If a unit is past economical repair we say so plainly instead of selling parts into a dying system.

Popular Question

Yes. A large share of our service work is on equipment we did not supply, and we do not charge more for the privilege. Tell us the brand if you know it and roughly how old the system is when you call, and we will bring the parts most likely to be needed rather than making a second trip for them.
We quote the call-out on the phone before anybody is dispatched, so there is no surprise on arrival. It covers the visit, the fault-finding and a written report of what we found. If you go ahead with the repair, that amount comes off the job. Nothing gets added afterwards without you approving it first.
Usually, and often without buying new cameras. The common causes are a dome gone cloudy or scratched, infrared bouncing straight back off a nearby wall or gutter, a camera aimed into a security light, or a recorder quietly saving the low-resolution stream instead of the main one. We diagnose which it is before recommending that you spend anything.
Cleaning lenses and domes, checking seals and cable entries, testing backup batteries under load rather than just looking at them, correcting camera angles that have drifted, running the gate through a full cycle and re-testing the safety beams, and confirming that the recorder is genuinely recording and that remote viewing still logs in. You get a short written report at the end of it.
